After spending the last ten years in prison, Zak, former DAMC president, has a few priorities: to reconnect with his “brothers,” to get drunk, and to get laid. Not necessarily in that order. When he spots a stunning woman in the clubhouse and mistakes her for one of the club’s strippers, those priorities get a bit skewed.

Sophie has no idea what happened to her life. One minute she’s totally focused on building her bakery business, and the next? She’s delivering a cake to the Dirty Angels motorcycle club’s “homecoming” celebration for a member who just got out of prison. Little does she know baking that cake will change the rest of her life, not to mention, make her a target for a rival MC. Normally, Sophie wouldn’t be caught dead with a man like Zak, a tattooed, ex-con, badassed biker.

When a decades old territory war threatens to rip them apart, Zak will do anything to keep Sophie, his club, and the town safe. But being from two different worlds, the threat they’re under may not be worth the risk.

Karia’s Ravings…

Well friends, it has been a hella long time since I have written a review. Why? Well, life got in the way of reviewing, but not reading. I haven’t broken my 227 books in a year record, but I do still get over 100 every year. When my son left four years ago for university, I truly was sad and that sadness clung to me like a heavy coat. A coat I didn’t want to shrug off most days either. All I looked forward to were the trips to see him play football and then in the off season the times we could convince him to come home. Welp…on those long travel days for football, I read. I did not however have internet for most of this “free” time so no reviews were done. Then as I got out of the habit, I would add to Goodreads and put stars but nothing. Fast forward to this past Friday as I was watching LivePD (alone) and I posted my watch party snacks…and Brandi my book loving friend comments that she too is enjoying her Friday night with Lt. Danny Brown (hey Danny!). So we get talking and chatting and discussing the police and police books (Brothers in Blue by Jeanne St. James also awesome…yeasssss) and my awaited “Crossing the Line” a crossover book from the Dirty Angel’s MC series…To which Brandi says, What are the Dirty Angels!!??! Only like my best discovery of this past summer!!!

I one-clicked the first three books (in a set) while I was in Seattle the day before leaving for my Alaskan Cruise with my sister. As many of you may know, I don’t sleep much and instead opt to read well into the early hours. Given that my sister and friend fell asleep the minute their heads hit the pillow, I cued up Zak and I was amazed!  Why had I not read this series earlier? Why had none of my friends alerted me to Jeanne St. James?

I loved this first book in the series. The characters are just the right amount of grit and romance. Well…If you can call dragging a woman you insta-lust up to your room and bang the heck out of her within minutes of meeting her romance??? But seriously, Zak really steps up his game and brings it to woo his woman. He gives her plenty of chances to get to know the real man behind the cutt and the beast behind his jeans. Teehee… I loved the interplay between all the guys and their obviously love between them despite Zak having been locked up for a crime he did not commit (not to say he was clean by any means), just not guilty of what they framed him for doing. I quickly read the first three books and then luckily found some wifi to get all the rest of the Dirty Angels…More reviews to come!

But for now, I will leave you with Zak as I eagerly await November 1st and the release of Jeanne St. James’ newest crossover book…”Crossing the Line” (a Dirty Angels MC/Blue Avengers MC Crossover). While this will be the #11 book in the Dirty Angels MC series, it also will serve as the first in the Blue Avengers MC (despite Alex VP of the Blue Avengers MC being assigned book #5 of the Dirty Angels MC).
