It’s time to take it to the next level.
Heath Lancaster’s happy to be on the practice squad of a professional football team, but instead of a lucky break taking him to the next level, a league-wide strike leaves him unemployed. Until he finds a new semi-pro league in Virginia Beach, where a bikini-clad hottie snags one of his passes on the beach and offers him a tour of the area . . .
A scandalous affair turned Jordan Kelly into media fodder–and in no hurry to get back into the dating game. But the easy going tight end of the new Triton’s team unleashes an inhibited wild streak in her and has her tempting him with a game of her own. But when she finds out who the owner of the Tritons is, she’s wondering if she’ll repeat her mistakes . . .
I was confused by the “scandalous affair” and why Jordan was in debt to a lawyer. What did she need to get a lawyer and defend herself over??? Some douche she was dating (not living with, not married to, not even in the same state) turned out to be married to another woman and lying to her. That shite is between him and his wife. I never really understood what went down in the court proceeding that anything to do with her, but Jordan is bitter and leery of men.
So of course…a hottie on the beach just falls into her arms for the summer might just be what Jordan needs to forget her pain and shame.
Heath is a good guy. He has been chasing his football dream for a while and a summer with a semi-pro team during the pro lock-out might just be the time he needs to reflect and decide what he wants to be when he grows up. One long term plan would be to find the one…but he’s not looking for her right now. But ain’t life funny that way: when you are least expecting it…life drops a miracle in your lap.
Jordan and Heath hit it off, but each has some ghosts to chase before they are ready to be someone’s “one”. I loved how Heath was patient and a great friend. He also enables Jordan to be her true self. Both grow and learn and love over the summer, but when fall comes…they must choose. I loved that these two work on themselves to be the best for not just the other person but for themselves. Enjoy!
