After a vicious fight with her slut-shaming jerk of stepbrother, Natalie storms out of the family McMansion, never imagining that would be the last time she’d be allowed in the house. A string of truly rotten decisions follows, until she finds herself suspended from school, friendless, broke, and camping out at the minimart where she works. Worst of all, her college applications are due!
Thanks to a helpful teacher and her own stupendous brilliance she manages to get into her top choice college. Unfortunately, dealing with the financial aid forms proves to be too much for her supersmarts and she is about to lose her spot because she cannot get the money together to pay the deposit.
Enter Gareth Boyd, an old family friend and all-around manipulative bastard, who makes her an offer: sleep with his (totally hot) roommate, Jamie, and he’ll pay for everything.
How hard can it be?
Warning: This story features an eighteen-year-old heroine with a foul mouth and horrible judgment, a criminally unscrupulous man intent on taking advantage of her, and multiple scenes of bondage, spanking, ménage, and one potentially triggering scene of attempted rape. The novel is an erotic fantasy in which characters manipulate or disregard notions of proper consent in ways that would never be acceptable in real life. Adult Readers Only.

Karia’s Review:

Just to start: my gut instinct is a new title…I really enjoyed this totally unique story (plot is novel! So huge kudos to the author…) but, part of me wanted a different title more in line with the story I got…Her Trainer? Deceptive Surrender? Two Weeks?

Okay, biggest beef aside, this is fairly hardcore (not much Sugar) book. The warning from the publisher is there for a reason. But, despite how hardcore the “situations” were, there was a definite lack of connection between Natalie and the things happening to her. She really only connected to Gareth, which I thought was an awesome part of the story, but she doesn’t seem to connect to much else. I wondered if that was part of the plot until later when this became obvious…yes, infact her attachment to Garath was what kept her in the situation that she remained. The submissive holds all the power and time and again, Natalie may have been made aware of that or actively accepted that fact, but never once asked to leave, asked for it to stop or asked for Garath to participate. She simple did as she was told, fighting it the whole time, but not asking for it to stop. This may be a trigger for people, so be warned.

Jamie was a complete and utter ass at several points in the book. He wanted her, but it was not revealed as to why. Gareth, also seemed to want her, but not in any way that seemed obvious or even normal. Needless to say, as their “relationship” develops, I was left hanging a bit. I really did not understand what role Daniel was playing and/or why he was there. And personally, I never did learn that even to the end of the book. His role seemed to be as Jamie’s disciplinarian, a role Gareth did not enjoy. These four were messed up at times, stumbling through their establishment of a melange and then boom…Done…Over…And the reader learns this whole monsterous, cathartic and epic journey of Natalie’s was only 2 Weeks!!!

Not to be spoilery, but there is a happy ever after…but it is not your conventional or even kink-filled HEA. Did I enjoy this book? Yes. Would I let my mom know I read it? No. Should you read it? I will leave it in your hands. Enjoy.
