Review: Midnight Rescue (Killer Instincts #1) by Elle Kennedy! @ElleKennedy

Dangerous. Ruthless. Savage. And she’s the good guy.

Abby Sinclair had a desperate childhood until she was rescued and adopted by a retired army ranger who molded her into a master of self-defense. Now, she’s a cunning and fearless assassin thrust into assignment after dangerous assignment, using everything she has-nerve, resilience, strength, sex-to come out on top. Her only rule: trust no one.
Abby’s latest assignment is in Columbia: go undercover and snuff out a dangerous arms dealer active in the underground sex trade. But when Abby purposely blows her cover in a last-ditch attempt to free the helpless victims, deadly mercenary Kane Woodland is recruited as back-up. His mission: get Abby out of that hell hole.

The last thing Kane expects is to feel a primal attraction for Abby. But when she convinces him to join her on her perilous mission, their newfound passion could put the lives of their whole team at risk.

Brandi’s 4 star review…

Midnight Rescue is the first installment in Elle Kennedy’s Killer Instincts series and what an action-packed thrill ride! We get bad-ass heroines, hot Alpha males and a plot that’s so engaging, I finished this book in one day.
Noelle is the boss of a team of female assassins/chameleons who take on the criminal underworld. When one of her girls missions takes a turn for the worst, Noelle is left to turn to one of her enemies, Jim Morgan, who happens to run a team of mercenaries. Kane, Morgan’s second in command, goes on the mission to save Abby and after her recovery he is intrigued by this cold lethal woman. Kane agrees to help Abby with a dangerous mission and in the process he tries to break her walls down.
As a child Abby’s life was one of abuse until the night Jeremy showed up and saved her from a monster. He taught her how to survive and now she’s a strong independent woman who leads a life centered around taking down her targets. That’s until she is rescued by the handsome Kane, who brings feelings out in her that she’s never felt before.
Midnight Rescue is told in multiple POV’s so we get to know a few member’s from these teams. The plot was engaging and a majority of it was centered around the mission with the romance aspect thrown in throughout the story. If you’re a fan of Cindy Gerard or Pamela Claire than this is definitely a book/ series for you to check out! There are currently 5 books available with the sixth releasing very soon. Now, it’s time for me to jump into the second installment that’s Luke’s story!
